Hi! I’m Karina - the heart behind Pura Vida Charcuterie. I was born in beautiful Costa Rica and raised in the lush, laid-back corner of the Pacific Northwest, so it’s no suprise that Pura Vida (which means “the good life” ) became the perfect name for this passion project of mine.

My love for charcuterie started about six years ago during the holidays, when I made my first cheese board for a family gathering. Let’s just say… I was instantly hooked. What began as a seasonal tradition turned into a full-blown obsession (in the best way). For me, there’s something magical about layering flavors, textures, and colors to create something beautiful and delicious. Something that brings people together.

Cheese is my favorite. Cheese is life. (I will happily die on this dairy-filled hill.)

By day, I am a full-time working mom in the banking world, where I’ve spent years building relationships. I truly love working with people - getting to know their stories, helping where I can, and finding joy in everyday connections. That same joy and intention fuel what I do at Pura Vida.

I’m also a mom to two wild and wonderful boys and married to my middle school sweetheart (yep, still going strong!). Life is full, a little messy, and totally beautiful.

Pura Vida is my creative outlet, an expression of love, hospitality, and that irresistible urge to make things look as good as they taste. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone or just want to elevate snack time, every board I make is crafted with care, heart, and a whole lot of cheese.
